Deadline for manuscript submissions: 30 June 2025

The deadline for manuscript submissions for the Special Issue  “Mesopelagic Fish Ecology, Biology and Evolution” in Fishes (IF 2.1, https://www.mdpi.com/journal/fishes) has been extended to 30 June 2025.
 
Please note that the Editorial Office can provide discounts for Article Processing Charges, which will be mainly distributed in fashion "first come, first served", after also taking into account factors such as the scope and quality of the paper, scientific interest etc. 
 
Topics of interest for publication in this Special Issue include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
mesopelagic fish community composition and abundance, horizontal and vertical distribution, links with abiotic features, interactions (e.g., trophic) with other organisms, contribution to the biological pump, biogeography, genetic population structure and connectivity, evolutionary adaptations, the potential for exploitation, climate impacts, other threats, and any other aspect that improves understanding of their ecology, biology, and evolution
