The BBC Natural History Unit is embarking on an ambitious and exciting challenge, to make a 3-episode series dedicated to the remarkable inhabitants of the deep. Each episode of "Project Odyssey" will take the audience on a wild journey to meet the most incredible animals and habitats on earth and reveal how they shine a light on our own existence.

We will be featuring a combination of natural history behavior- lead sequences combined with presenter pieces alongside some of the scientists, expeditions and technology being developed to study and protect the deep.

Starting this spring of 2025 we will be filming until Spring 2027 and are still gathering stories and shaping the 3 episodes. We would very much like to hear from scientists and organisations who have stories, research, and potential cruises they feel might be of interest to this series. We are open to anything and everything but are working under the parameters that the species can be filmed to a broadcast level, the animal or habitat has a fantastic story/behaviour and the story relates to life in the deep ocean (anything below 200m).

Please contact Emma Peace on emma.peace.ext@bbc.com with anything you feel might be of interest to us. We are considering all stories including for example, the Twilight Zone, Conservation of the Oceans, New Discoveries and Pioneering Technology and Research.

Thank you for your consideration!
