The first quarterly newsletter is available for Ocean Vision AI (OVAI), a new collaborative research and development program. 

The goals of (OVAI) are to accelerate the processing of ocean visual data by building networks of programmers, marine scientists, and enthusiasts all working toward a common goal of understanding life in the ocean. To enable this, we’re building out interconnected solutions like the Portal, FathomNet (a database of labeled imagery and machine learning models), and FathomVerse (a community science labeling mobile game).  

Thanks to funding from NSF’s Convergence Accelerator Program, and more recently the Dalio Foundation and Schmidt Marine Technology Partners, we will have a busy year ahead. If you’d like to keep up with our activities, please subscribe to the newsletter here.
