This is to share the release of a call for Letters of Intent (LOI) for the first grant opportunity through the Environmental Defense Fund's Phytoplankton Carbon Solutions (PCS) Research Program.

RFP #1: Identification and Characterization of Critical Uncertainties for PCS will support foundational research to:
- Identify key uncertainties surrounding carbon dioxide removal potential and social-ecological impacts of phytoplankton carbon solutions
- Assess which uncertainties can be addressed through additional research
- Develop a framework to help guide the broader PCS Research Consortium and inform future research priorities

LOI Deadline: 11:59pm ET, Monday, October 12th, 2026.
